Creede Visitor Center

The Visitor Center welcomes volunteers year-round! We love having both newcomers and old-timers who have time to spare and knowledge to share! Volunteer in the Visitor Center for a single afternoon or get on our regular schedule! There are also many opportunities to help with our annual events: run the Art Auction or set up the Cook-Off competition for the Taste of Creede; run a water station along Donkey Dash or Mountain Run courses; help with registration or ticket sales on Labor Day Weekend, run a timer during the Gravity Derby, and MORE!
Creede Repertory Theatre

CRT relies on more than 1000 hours of volunteer time each year. As a volunteer, you have a chance to work closely with CRT company members, meet other volunteers, and earn free tickets! Opportunities include ushering during a performance or assisting with event preparations.
Creede Arts Council

Mission: to promote the arts and humanities in our community through education, exhibition and performance, and to foster local artistic talent. The CAC sponsors multiple programs and events throughout the year, and is always looking for volunteers!
Upper Rio Grande Nordic Club

Grooms cross-country ski trails, and sponsors events and activities. The club has permits for six groomed and ungroomed trails all around the Creede area and offers skiing in much of Mineral County’s beautiful backcountry.
Snowcountry Explorers Snowmobile Club

The club grooms approximately 85 miles of trails in the Rio Grande National Forest. Trailheads near Creede provide access to trails for all experience levels.
Creede Historical Society
The Creede Historical Society is dedicated to the preservation of the history of Creede and Mineral County. The Museum is housed in the Historic Depot and boasts a wonderful collection of memorabilia from the area. Do you LOVE HISTORY? Volunteers help run the museum during open hours (knowledge of area not required), help with digital archiving of area photos, and help put on events.

Mission: To provide outstanding recreational, educational, cultural, and entertainment programming in harmony with the interests of the community while collaborating with regional partners. The MCFA puts on Creede Chute Out Rodeo Series, the Labor Day Weekend Ranch Rodeo, supports the County 4H Program, and more. Volunteers for any of these events are welcome!!
Creede Parks & Rec

Creede Parks and Recreation operates on a daily basis out of the Virginia Christensen Multi Use Facility. The facility is available to all, and has an indoor basketball and pickleball court, a weight room/cardio area, as well as a small studio room used for spin and pound classes. The Recreation Department offers various sports, classes, and summer camps for all ages, and is always looking for volunteers! We have opportunities for those who want to volunteer once, or those who want to make a regular commitment.
Creede Early Learning Center

Mission: to provide a safe, dependable, affordable and nurturing childcare facility for Creede and the surrounding communities. The CELC houses Mineral County’s Pre-K program, and is open 4 days a week in the summer. Volunteers who LOVE KIDS are always welcome to come from 9-10am or 3-5pm to read, play outside, and help with arts-andcrafts! And if kids aren’t your thing, but you support Education and love renovation projects, event planning or outdoor fix ups, the CELC is always seeking volunteers for various projects!
